Descending Through the Rings of Hell And landing in the pit that spawned MySpace. Yes, to help promote my website Vox Ex Machina, I have scratched up a MySpace page with blog postings and such. It's probably a futile gesture, but one never knows with these things. If you're into the MySpace wackiness, check me out at http://www.myspace.com/vox_ex_machina and start doing that Friends thing. Right now, I'm all alone there. Alone! On the Internet! Please help me. | | Sunday, December 7th, 2008 | | 1:32 am |
On the Internet, Things Explode But Good Okay, so we all know about that video game blog site I and Elfkin put together. That www.voxexmachina.com. Good site, fun reading, yes? A day or two ago, we got picked up on Slashdot, blew up the server, good times. About 6pm today, or is that yesterday, whichever, it was early afternoon, Kotaku linked us off their front page. Kotaku is more or less the biggest gaming blog site on the net. Here's their post. Yet again, server go boom, denying us an hour's worth of precious traffic. We're getting about 300 unique visitors an hour from that link alone as I write this. Elfkin and I only really started working on this site about three weeks ago. Sigh. Success, I have discovered, is the opposite of relaxation. So, how has your day been? | | Thursday, December 4th, 2008 | | 6:31 pm |

Hey Folks, I've Got a Blog! It's called Vox Ex Machina, and it's about video games. Elfkin also writes there, including a series of stories about running around as a Paladin in World of Warcraft. Me, I mostly post about strange games and odd game-related media. It's funny, and you should read it.
We're just getting rolling with this thing, and we need all the help we can get. If you've got a web page of your own, we'd appreciate a link there, or if you've got a game-related article floating around, we'd love to run it. I'm certain one or two of you have something to say on the subject.
Again, check it out. www.voxexmachina.com for fun and happy words about the gaming scene. Maybe some things you've never seen before. Not like you're doing anything else while waiting in that server queue...

Photography and other ways to depress the soul
A while back, I received a digital camera for Christmas, nothing special, just something to play around with. Playing around with, I discovered that people would give me money to take pictures. They just kept doing it. So, I decided to maybe check out photography for reals. This is my first collection done with an SLR (just like the pros use!) camera. Manual everything. Clicky up the picture to check it out. I am desperate for comments.

Did You Know?
It seems I somehow got into the World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade closed beta test. Things I've learned: Blood Elfs better get Spinal Reconstructive Surgery as a level 40 racial skill. Those dudes are wicked extreme with their chest-out posture. Their ears wobble, too. Keeping your weapon properly enchanted in Outland is no fun. One of the first quests gave me an axe that blows my Arcanite Reaper right outta the water. I then picked up another axe that laughs at my new one. Off the Auction House. For 25 gold. The phat loot raiding scene is now officially dead. The nearest class trainer to Outland is in the Undercity. Hell of a trip back home, that one. Is anyone else in the Beta? We seriously need to hook up and pool our resources. R.O | | Saturday, November 19th, 2005 | | 4:12 am |
Sometimes, I write things
Okay, so I spend way too much time playing World of Warcraft. Now, I even spend way too much time writing about my adventures in that magical land. And I take pictures along the way. Perhaps you might like to check it out? The Warcraft Eye

One Villain Can Make A Difference
Just mentioning, City of Villains introduced longer coats. And bases. So now we can make our trenchcoat-wearing vampires and the Warehouse they hang out in.

This is the Vampire Omnicynic. Some of you might remember him. He enjoys using Movement of the Mind to introduce bad guys to the new ragdoll physics system, and setting people on fire with Lure of the Flames. He would rather like to meet up with old friends. He lives on the Virtue server. My global handle is @Omnicynic. Come say hi. R.O | | Monday, October 3rd, 2005 | | 9:09 pm |
Haste, and the Lack Of
You know, a track record of roughly one entry a year, that ain't bad. Maybe I should pick it up a notch, though. Perhaps I should get around to those cat pictures... Everyone loves random pet pictures, right? To start the show, here's my own Ivy, in her rough glory.

Other cat pictures will be forthcoming soon enough. Oh, I've got lots of them. R.O | | Sunday, August 7th, 2005 | | 2:25 pm |
Crafting the War
Good morning! I crave contact and conversion, so information must be released to the public. My AIM name is Ceroptera, I'm almost always online. Most of my gaming time is spent in World of Warcraft these days, with a small nod to City of Heroes for that incredible character creator. I can post screenshots if anyone wants them, do reviews, make suggestions, all that. Presently, I play WoW on the Thunderhorn server, Horde side, as Moonsweet, Malrachnia, and Willowdust. Look me up, I know pretty much everyone who might read this plays the game. I have a camera! A nice one, too. It speaks many happy words with Photoshop. Perhaps some kind soul could suggest things for me to aim this camera towards? That is all. Be seeing you. R.O | | Saturday, October 16th, 2004 | | 1:48 pm |
A most charming time of the year

Why do you wear that stupid bunny suit?
Why do you wear that stupid man suit?
I always did like rabbits. The above picture is from a nice little movie, probably good for the Halloween season, called Donnie Darko. Chances are, everyone who might read this has already seen it, so this is just for my own amusement. Also, I need a picture of the bunny to use as an icon in certain places. Ever notice scary characters tend to be named Frank? R.O Current Music: Silent Hill 2 -- Red Pyramids | | Monday, October 11th, 2004 | | 10:22 pm |
World, meet Omnicynic...
It seems time has passed while I was away. Who knew? For those who care, I disappeared sometime in 2002 or so, and, I suspect, to some general relief. This was due to a variety of factors, the story best told by an old man with a guitar and a glass of wine. Suffice to say that modern medicine is a wonderful thing, and it is an interesting experience to be told one is about to die. Since the community I once knew now floats around here, this is where I go as well. For better or worse. Oh, yes. The kitten over there is my own Ivy, daughter of Brent's Trinity. Ivy is three years old now, and a loving, cuddly polydactyl who sleeps in the cubby just above my keyboard. I'll have pictures of her soon, as tradition dictates. R.O |
